Conserves natural resources
Celtic Cement Technology provides reduces the necessity of quarrying natural virgin aggregates.
Billions of tonnes of natural aggregates are quarried for use in the construction industry by mineral extraction companies - 1.6 tonnes of raw material are quarried for every tonne of traditional Portland cement produced.
Portland cement, the basic ingredient of concrete, is a closely controlled chemical combination of calcium, silicon, aluminum, iron and small amounts of other ingredients to which gypsum is added in the final grinding process to regulate the setting time of the concrete. Lime and silica make up about 85% of the mass. Common among the materials used in its manufacture are limestone, shells, and chalk or marl combined with shale, clay, slate or blast furnace slag, silica sand, and iron ore.
Many industries dispose of billions of tonnes of by-products and waste to landfill or stockpile large quantities causing a blot on the landscape and polluting the local environment.

Celtic Cement Technology provides a methodology to enable the economic production of flexible cement replacements from a wide range of industrial by-products which would otherwise have been disposed of in a landfill site without using any quarried natural raw materials.
The technology over the last ten years, has been tried, tested and patented and can produce a flexible, high performance, sustainable cement substitute without the use of any natural resources.

Patent Approval
August 2007
After fifteen years of detailed research and thorough testing the patent for our Celtic Cement Technology process was granted 29th August 2007, patent number GB2401104. The patent was applied for on 29th April 2003 and since that date we have been working on perfecting the process and applying it to a commercial scale enviromnent. Further testing on a diverse range of industrial waste materials has taken place in the meantime with fantastic cementatious properties being achieved.
